The Orca Inn

I had a great experience at the Orca Inn. KJ was friendly at check-in, and provided her phone number so that she could be reached 24/7. I had a loud neighbor initially, but she promptly & respectfully addressed the situation and it was resolved. The room was immaculate clean, the bed was comfy, and the room has an adjustable wall unit a/c/heater. The location was good, 15 min walk down the main street sidewalks to get to Friday harbor. The rooms are small and charming, completely adequate for just having a place to rest. I would stay again; it was an affordable, safe, nice place to stay in Friday Harbor!

Perhaps the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in and the staff was very kind and welcoming! It was everything we needed and was a great base for exploring the island. We walked from the ferry with no trouble. Would love to come back and stay again!

Good check-in process… our room was even ready early. The walls seemed a bit thin, but the room felt clean enough, and it was cool that we had two bathrooms and two showers. The beds were comfy enough. Overall, this was a less expensive option than other hotels on the island, so it was exactly what I expected for the price.

Very very very clean! Enjoyed a peaceful one night stay. Includes ref and microwave. Shower stall with built in soap and shampoo. Nice thick towels in the shower and sink areas. Walking distance to Friday Harbor ferry terminal where I enjoyed restaurants and gift shops. I highly recommend this place if you don't want to pay the high priced hotels in Friday Harbor. Simple accommodation...to sleep and shower.

The hotel is very close to the primary location. The prices are good too and the best part was the room setup. The lady at the office was very welcoming. We got rooms with 2 queen beds and loved the idea of separate bathrooms and sink. Bathrooms were very clean. 5 stars and will return for sure.

Rooms are very small but when you're on the island, no need to spend any time in your room but sleep. Staff was friendly. Great place to save money on the island to save it elsewhere.

Overall not a bad stay, service was fine in person. Desk staff was hard to reach by phone prior to check-in, and these rooms are TINY. I had college dorms with more room. It's great for one person, but we had 2 adults and a toddler. The rooms were clean, no real complaints there. The layouts were a bit weird with the separated shower/toilet and sink situation. The mini fridge behind the headboard was a choice as well. The shower was also finiky to the point they had a sign on the door. Very retro with the wood paneling as well. Not knocking the aesthetic, but you could taste the 80s in here. Also, Island pricing aside (I grew up on ferry only service island, I understand the extra cost), but the rooms were too little for the money we paid in my personal opinion.

We stayed in the micro-queen and I wish more hotel chains would get the memo that this is all anyone needs. 150 square feet, a clean bed made in this century, an air condition that works, and a functioning shower. Bare bones and dated interiors but I’m not in the San Juan islands for hotel interiors. I only detract a star because our room didn’t have black out curtains which are sorely needed in the summer time. Our room was fully illuminated by 6 am which isn’t my idea of vacation.
